Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
So, if children are an heritage what are we teaching them; fear, hide, run, or believe, stand, and confront. Many times, we run instead of turning and confronting what we believe is hindering or chasing us. Put your armor on and keep it on. Stand with the shield of faith and use the sword we have been given to fight the good fight of faith not the devil for he is already defeated and we have the victory.
Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18 gives us God-breathed strategies for all:
Ephesians 6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
So, what will our children see the “dog eat dog” strategies and “win at any cost” or will they see examples of bended knees asking for the wisdom of GOD and his strategy to execute it. What “golden nuggets” are we leaving them. Are they to walk in the ways of the world system or walk in the Kingdom of God principles? Are we pointing them to Jesus Christ these days or how to manipulate the systems of this world?
In these last days, we must change our priorities to include Godly and practical principles (evidence proven) to ensure that they know God for themselves and have chosen Jesus Christ as their example instead of celebrities, social influencers, artists, singers, and athletes. Are we a righteous example or are they looking for another?
Do they see us seeking the kingdom of God or materialistic things that grow old, require maintenance or eventually thrown away? For when it is all said and done, none of it will come with us, not even this body.
We must ask the Holy Spirit for help and guidance into his wisdom to walk as an example for those (natural or spiritual children) who are seeking the TRUTH and what is REAL. What legacy are we leaving behind? Is it how-to walk-in love, in faith, and in the power of the Holy Spirit? OR, is it how-to walk-in competition, fame, money, material goods, hatred and only my opinion matters?
What are we teaching our children, do they count, do they matter, or are they here to become our slave until they are no longer under our roof? What do they remember, your words, your behaviors or lack there of and how have or will they shaped their adulthood.
When we observe ourselves and others; some can conclude we are products of our environments. So, if it is negative change it TODAY and if it is on a positive track ask God for strength to stay in that same lane until our savior and Lord Jesus Christ returns.
The Holy Spirit always challenges us to come deeper in the Kingdom of God and grow up IN Christ Jesus for he is our example. How wonderful it is for those we have received him as their savior and lord that because of him we have an inheritance and it is eternity with GOD! WE claim our children and grandchildren for the Kingdom of God and that their blind eyes will be open and deaf ear will hear the TRUTH and believe and receive our Lord Jesus Christ as their savior, healer, and deliverer. In Jesus Name. Amen and Amen.
